SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Entrisphere today announced a complete GPON access solution including network platforms, software, network terminals and management systems. Based on the proven BLM 1500™, T-Series and EntriView™ product lines, this all-packet, end-to-end solution is available to support North American carriers as they deploy GPON networks to provide competitive IP-based Triple Play services over fiber.

With its increased bandwidth (2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.2 Gbps upstream) and native Ethernet protocol, the ITU G.984 GPON standard allows carriers to compete more effectively. GPON allows the access network to cost-effectively handle the increased bandwidth requirements of new differentiated IP-based services such IPTV, VoIP, High Speed Data and Ethernet services as well as legacy POTS, specials and DS1 over fiber.

“High-bandwidth, cost-effective, service-aware access systems have been hallmarks of Entrisphere’s products since the beginning,” said Don McCullough, director of product marketing at Entrisphere. “Our GPON solution extends the value of the BLM 1500 and our T-Series of ONTs and ONUs by enabling high-density, high-bandwidth fiber services without requiring forklift upgrades.”

In a separate release:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Entrisphere, the company that is changing the access business for major incumbent carriers and service providers, today announced the BLM T151™ and BLM T300™ Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), the latest additions to its T-Series family of ONTs and Optical Network Units (ONUs). The T151 enables fast and cost-effective delivery of voice, data and video services to small and medium-sized businesses or branch offices. The T300 is a fixed configuration ONT that delivers voice, data and video to small MDUs (up to four homes).

“Our business customers have been asking about faster data services, and the T151 facilitates our fiber-to-the-business rollout by making it easy for us to deliver high-speed Ethernet along with legacy DS1 services on a pay-as-you-go basis,” said Jim Baase, vice president of engineering at Fibertech. “Entrisphere has been a responsive partner in helping us to quickly and cost-effectively deploy fiber-based services for these customers.”

Designed to support carrier migration to fiber-fed services for smaller commercial customers, the T151 supports both legacy and future services. Featuring 2 DS1 ports, four POTS ports, one 10/100 Ethernet port, and a video port, the T151 allows carriers to maintain existing T1 and circuit-switched voice services while migrating their customers to Ethernet data services. The Ethernet port supports provisionable speeds up to 100 Mbps for tiered business data services, and the video port enables carriers to roll out revenue-enhancing services such as video conferencing or HDTV in a restaurant or other business with a need to show video. The T151 includes features that ease installation, including a removable cartridge design and up to 100 foot power drops using 48 VDC power.

In an additional release:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Entrisphere today announced two new modular fiber-fed remotes that support all triple play and legacy communications services while slashing the cost of delivering them across a range of applications and environments. The new BLM T500™ and BLM T550™ Optical Network Units (ONUs) are the first in Entrisphere’s new T5 Series of fiber-fed remote devices, which allow carriers to cost-effectively extend the benefits of fiber-based services to business and residential customers in fiber-to-the-business (FTTB), multi-tenant/multi-dwelling unit (MTU/MDU), fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) and fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) applications. With the T5 Series, Entrisphere now offers a complete package of fiber-based applications from single family homes and small business all the way up to large multi-tenant residential and commercial buildings.

The T5 Series ONUs are packet-based remotes with the same IP service-aware features that are embedded in the BLM 1500, Entrisphere’s flagship multi-service access platform. The T5 Series delivers unprecedented service and operational flexibility to carriers pushing fiber deep into the network while allowing re-use of existing copper infrastructures whether in-building or in the local loop. Delivering the bandwidth of fiber over shorter copper loops is now possible in all circumstances, including environments where it is not possible or economical to pull fiber all the way to the customer. The T5 ONUs deliver IPTV, POTS, VoIP, high speed data, ADSL2+, VDSL2, DS1, Ethernet, RF video, HiCap data and specials services and offer flexible mounting and enclosure options.

“Entrisphere has been very aggressive in delivering solutions that enable carriers to meet their most important service and deployment challenges,” said Don McCullough, Director of Product Marketing at Entrisphere. “The T5 Series of remotes extends our multi-service access platform advantages into new applications and new types of buildings, enabling carriers to cost-effectively expand high-bandwidth services and their fiber access networks.”
