DULUTH, Ga. -– ARRIS (NASDAQ: ARRS) and Ellacoya Networks today announced they have entered into a non-exclusive distribution agreement under which ARRIS will distribute Ellacoya’s IP service management systems to cable operators worldwide beginning immediately.

By leveraging Ellacoya’s advanced IP service management technology, ARRIS now offers broadband operators a solution that provides unprecedented visibility into and management of their high-speed data network. Ellacoya provides both the hardware and the management software tools to measure, analyze and manage traffic by application and activity. This new capability allows operators to see significant cost savings, improved customer satisfaction and reduced churn through improved bandwidth and application management for advanced services such as voice-over-IP (VoIP), IP video and gaming.

The agreement will further enhance the ability of ARRIS to offer a complete application-aware networking solution, and provides Ellacoya with a significant worldwide sales and support channel. ARRIS has already successfully installed Ellacoya’s IP service management system with several North and South American cable operators.

“Through this agreement and with Ellacoya’s leading technology, we can offer our customers a complete application-aware solution that will enable them to better leverage their infrastructure as they bring compelling new services to their customers,” said Bryant Isaacs, President, ARRIS New Business Ventures Unit.

The Ellacoya system consists of its high performance 4000 and 16000 series IP switches as well as its Service Logic Software (SLS), a central point of configuration, policy distribution, and integration with other network and back office systems.

“The broadband market is rapidly evolving from providing basic services such as always-on connectivity and faster data speeds into a highly competitive entertainment offering with a full range of broadband IP programming and services,” said Ron Sege, president and CEO of Ellacoya Networks. “We are excited about providing our technology platform through the extensive sales and support organization of ARRIS. This allows us to more rapidly enable operators to differentiate their services through application visibility and management.”
