AMCC Helps Tragedy Victims

AMCC lends support to Sept. 11 victims with employee and corporate contributions

SAN DIEGO -- Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) [NASDAQ:AMCC] today announced that in an effort to support the victims and families of the tragedies in New York and Washington, D.C., the company will donate funds generated through an employee-matching program and corporate contributions. Employees from AMCC's worldwide facilities raised $205,154 in funds to aid the relief efforts. The company will match these employee donations, dollar for dollar, and make a corporate donation of $205,154, bringing AMCC's total contribution to $410,308. Employees chose to donate funds to various agencies that are assisting disaster victims in the affected communities, which include American Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way of New York and New York Community Trust Sept. 11 Fund, Feed the Children c/o Disaster Relief New York, Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund for World Trade Center and Pentagon Victims, New York Fire 9-11 Relief Fund and New York Fraternal Order of Police WTC Disaster Relief Fund.
