Albis Optoelectronics appoints Peter Cairoli as Chief Executive Officer

RUESCHLIKON, Switzerland -- Albis Optoelectronics AG, the privately held Swiss manufacturer of high speed, InP based optical components, today announced the appointment of Mr. Peter Cairoli as its Chief Executive Officer.

Since the acquisition of the photodiode business line of former Opto Speed, Albis Optoelectronics has ramped up production and started volume shipments to its worldwide customer base. "In addition, we are offering a wide range of services and are starting various R&D activities", says Joerg Wieland, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors. "With his 12 years experience in senior technology management, Peter is committed to work with customers and suppliers to best exploit these opportunities."

Prior to joining Albis, Mr. Cairoli headed an institute for micro technologies and ran his own design center for ASICs and full custom designed chips. During the last four years, he was partner in a technology investment company, listed on the Swiss stock exchange. In this function, Peter analyzed and validated high tech companies and helped them succeeding to become industry leaders.

"As an established player in the data- and telecom markets, Albis offers fully qualified photodiodes that have found their way into many 2.5 Gb/s, 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s applications", says Peter Cairoli.
