QUEBEC CITY -- EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) today unveiled its FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer module, the newest addition in a long history of market-leading multiservice testers. The FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer is the ideal test tool for next-generation converged networks thanks to testing capabilities that extend to Ethernet, SONET/SDH, OTN, Fibre Channel as well as packet synchronization (SyncE/1588 PTP) services.

In today's competitive market, the pressure to speed up testing and streamline network operations is constantly mounting. The FTB-8830NGE is designed to meet all the 10G multiservice network testing challenges of today and tomorrow.

From legacy circuits (SONET/SDH) to OTN circuits, the Power Blazer is fully stocked to execute turn-up, validation and troubleshooting tasks. As for packet-based Ethernet services, the Power Blazer's unique dual test-set topology enables quick and accurate asymmetrical service level agreement (SLA) validation. These capabilities combined with the EtherSAM (Y.1564) and SyncE/1588PTP test suites make it the ultimate module for ensuring peak network performance. The Power Blazer also addresses the needs for the turn-up and validation of Fibre Channel circuits at all rates (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 10x and 16x), making it the most comprehensive tool on the market.

Furthermore, with two built-in 10G ports and a sleek design, the FTB-8830NGE offers unprecedented port density. When housed in the new FTB-2 Pro compact platform, the number of 10G ports can be expanded up to four simultaneous tests per compact platform, maximizing the field-team's capabilities and efficiency.

"With the arrival of the FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer, EXFO once again reaffirms its role as an undisputed leader in innovative market-driven multiservice test solutions," said Claudio Mazzuca, Vice-President of EXFO's Transport and Service Assurance Division. "Since our customers must deliver quality services to generate revenue, our objective is to provide them with appropriate and reliable test tools that will help them overcome their challenges as their network transformation progresses."
