When Jennifer Weeks hit the Interstate 15 pavement, it was the end of the road for her run from the law.
Weeks, wanted for allegedly exploiting her elderly grandmother, fell from the moving truck her husband was driving Tuesday morning.
As Jennifer Weeks lay on the side of I-15 - alive but badly hurt - Todd J. Weeks kept driving.
"I don't think he even gave it a second thought," said Millard County sheriff's Sgt. Roger Young...
Jennifer Weeks, 39, was in serious condition Thursday at LDS Hospital with two broken knees and road rash.
The couple are charged with a second-degree felony count of exploitation of a disabled or elder adult. They are accused of financially exploiting 87-year-old Louella Castle of Ogden, Jennifer Weeks' adoptive mother and biological grandmother. Police say the suspects unlawfully obtained power of attorney for Castle, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, then took more than $200,000 from her.
