Cicada Semiconductor names industry veteran to Andrew J. Rava to executive sales post

AUSTIN, Texas -- Cicada Semiconductor Corporation announced today that Andrew J. Rava has joined the company as vice president of sales. Rava, previously with Broadcom Corporation, will lead the company's global expansion in Gigabit Ethernet solutions and DSP-based mixed-signal ICs. In a related move, the company announced it is establishing its worldwide sales headquarters and local applications support in San Jose, Calif., where Rava will direct Cicada's day-to-day sales operation.

"Andy is an outstanding addition to our management team," said David McLean, Cicada's president and CEO. "Most importantly, he knows how to win in the competitive Gigabit Ethernet market. The impact on our customers and business partners around the world will be immediate."

Rava brings over 22 years of global sales experience to Cicada. Most recently he was responsible for Tier 1 OEM networking accounts at Broadcom. Prior to that Rava was director of North American and European sales for Altima Communications, a leader in Ethernet transceiver and switching solutions. "The opportunity at Cicada is very exciting," said Rava. "Their strong engineering team and the tremendous market potential make for a winning combination. I look forward to leading Cicada's sales efforts around the world to increase revenue and share in the expanding enterprise markets."
