Tellabs Wins Lebanese Project

LONDON -- The Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT), thesole provider of telecommunications services in Lebanon, has selectedthe Tellabs® 8100 network manager and the Tellabs® 8110 networkterminating unit (NTU) to enable it to rapidly provision digital leasedline services and provide data access to its customers across thecountry. The products, which are distributed by Tellabs' partnerTetracom, will provide increased control over the network, enabling theMoT to reduce operating expenses and to add new customers as well as tointroduce new services easily, quickly and accurately from a singlenetwork manager.

The Tellabs 8100 network manager enables MoT staff to verify servicequality and manage all services in real time from a single desktop,reducing maintenance and operational costs. The Tellabs 8110 NTU modemswill provide auto-configuration and "plug and play" support, enablingfast network roll-out and deployment of services.
