KOSICE, Slovakia -- Antik Technology from Slovakia has rich experience with design andmanufacturing of products for IPTV industry. The company is producing IPTV set-top boxes and IPphones for end-users but recently entered a new market segment with a new product – Juice Ember isa professional multi-stream H.264 HD encoder and transcoder for providers of digital content. Thedevice was presented to the public at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam for the first time.

Juice Ember is able to transcode the video to H.264 from MPEG-2, which was used to create a largeamount of content and is still widely used. The device uses H.264 codec technology, as it is becominga wide-spread compression standard used by service and content providers to reach efficientencoding, offering more than 50% bit rate reduction compared to MPEG-2 thanks to the datacompression. “We have chosen H.264, because it is a very popular codec among the providerswho use the advantage of its strong compression and less bandwidth usage, while preservingimage quality. High compression ratio enables the providers to get their TV service even topeople in areas with slower connection or with limited bandwidth, such as 3G mobilenetworks,” said Igor Kolla, Antik Technology CEO.
