Swisscom Intros Flat-Rate VOIP

BERN, Switzerland -- Swisscom Fixnet has introduced a flat-rate charge for Bluewin Phone. This means that customers can now make unlimited calls to the Swiss fixed network via the Internet (Voice over IP) around the clock for CHF 19.80 a month. Calls are in excellent voice quality, can be made from home or from any broadband Internet connection anywhere in the world.

Bluewin Phone enables Internet telephony, allowing calls to be made and received directly via computer. Alternatively, a special phone can be used to make calls without a computer. Whichever method is used for accessing Bluewin Phone, customers can now take advantage of a flat-rate charge of CHF 19.80 a month, which includes all calls to the Swiss fixed-line network (except for value-added services). Calls to the mobile network and abroad are billed at the usual Swisscom Fixnet rates.

Bluewin Phone enables users to be reached anywhere in the world via a single fixed-line number, and to make cost-effective calls. Other features include the forwarding of selected calls to up to three different numbers, or the option of teleconferencing. Bluewin Phone is now directly linked to Swisscom Directories' online phonebook and allows you to access your own Bluewin address book directly. Bluewin Phone provides crystal-clear voice quality even when you are simultaneously transmitting data via your computer. Swisscom Fixnet provides a separate number for Bluewin Phone (Bluewin Phone number). Customers are allowed to keep their original fixed-network number.
