US Internet, Aptilo Win Deal

DALLAS, STOCKHOLM, and KUALA LUMPUR -- US Internet, a global Internet, hosting, and ASP provider, and Aptilo Networks, the leading supplier of service management systems for WiFi and WiMAX networks, today announced that they were selected by the City of Minneapolis to build and operate a 59-square-mile broadband wireless network to cover the entire city.

The citywide wireless initiative, known as “Wireless Minneapolis”, will result in one of the largest municipal WiFi rollouts in the United States. City departments will utilize the wireless broadband network to improve public safety, boost employee productivity and cut costs. The residents and businesses will have the opportunity to sign up for a wireless broadband account that can be used at work for business customers, home for residential customers, and while travelling within the city.
