QiComm Runs WiMax Pilot

QiComm wins contract to provide broadband wireless services rural areas in the West Midlands, UK

LONDON -- QiComm Ltd a leading Network Services provider and Systems Integrator has been awarded a contract to provide broadband services to rural areas in the West Midlands. QiComm will build a network based on Fixed Broadband Wireless Access (FBWA) utilising the latest WiFi/WiMAX technologies. The local networks will connect to QiComm's operations centre in London via its high capacity backhaul network.

The contract award made by the West Midlands Networking Company (WMNC), as part of Advantage West Midlands’ Regional Broadband Access Project (RBAP), which will provide the region with 100% broadband coverage. Richard E Zinkiewicz, QI Group Finance Director stated “we are pleased to be working with the WMNC to deliver affordable services that will strengthen communities and promote economic development.”
