Primanex Intros 1x2 Optical Switch

ZHAOYUAN, China -- Primanex (China) Corporation, a leading provider of highly reliable optical devices has introduced a new 1x2 optical switch with ultra fast switching speed, which is only less than 20µs. This new type of optical switch has one of the fastest switching speeds in the market. Samples are available immediately.

Commercially available optical switches, either in MEMS or in mechanical, types have a standard switching speed of 5 ms or 10 ms. Primanex’sprevious version of the switch with 0.2 ms switching speed has won many designs over the world for more complicated applications of optical communication.

The most notable feature of this switch is the incomparable reliability (over6 billion switching cycles tested). Other features include a broader operating temperature (from –40 °C to 80 °C), its compact size and great optical performance. Primanex is the only company in the world that is mass producing ultra fast optical switches. Since last year, it has shipped thousands of its patented high-speed switches to some first class companies worldwide. Now the company is working on new technology that could push the switching speed’s limit up to nano-second.
