SAN DIEGO -- Polatis, the performance leader in all-optical switching, today announced that it will be showcasing a live demonstration of its new 80-channel colorless, non-blocking add/drop solution for enabling the flexible and secure provisioning of wavelengths dynamically and on-demand. The solution leverages Polatis' ultra low-loss Series 2000 optical matrix switching platforms, based on its patented DirectLight(tm) beam steering technology. The demonstration will take place in Booth #T3422 at the OFC/NFOEC exhibition this week in San Diego, CA.

"High performance optical switching functionality is ideal for emerging telecom applications that require agile and resilient networks," said Nick Parsons, chief technology officer at Polatis. "Our demonstration shows how a colorless, non-blocking architecture enables flexibility and new services while increasing network reliability, efficiency and utilization." Polatis all-optical switching technology can be extended to full colorless, directionless and contentionless DWDM solutions, as a module or a standalone system, for network equipment manufacturers and their service provider customers.
