PLEASANTON, Calif. -- WebNMS, provider of Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management Systems (NMS) solutions for the telecom industry, today announced the launch of its high-performance Carrier Ethernet OAM solution. Available immediately, the new solution combines multi-vendor support with a state-of-the-art feature set to drive operating expense (OPEX) reductions for service providers managing Carrier Ethernet equipment from a single vendor or from multiple vendors.

WebNMS will showcase its new OAM solution in booth #133 at Light Reading’s Ethernet Expo Americas 2012, being held November 6-8, 2012, at the Hilton New York in New York City.

To maintain service continuity and reduce OPEX in multi-vendor Carrier Ethernet environments, service providers need to control, measure and report Ethernet service in a standard way, across all services and all vendors’ devices. Not every vendor, however, uses the MEF-Ethernet management model or standard MIBs, opting instead to implement custom RFCs and commands. The resulting fragmentation sticks service providers with multiple management consoles and systems integrations. The new WebNMS Carrier Ethernet OAM solution creates a single console for multi-vendor environments and delivers shorter time-to-market for new services, end-to-end service performance monitoring, and a more cost-effective, scalable and resilient infrastructure for data and voice services.
