REDMOND, Wash. -- XKL, LLC (www.XKL.com), a provider of enterprise network equipment, today unveiled DarkStar™ as the new name for their line of fiber optic communications equipment, including the company's flagship DXM Optical Transport Terminal.

In addition to the new family name, XKL has refined the overall packaging and will roll out its newest version of the product lines’ operating system (DXMOS 2.0). This newest revision of DXMOS enhances system security, improves management and adds support for upcoming DarkStar™ products.

Led by Cisco Systems co-founder Len Bosack, XKL develops technology that allows corporations and institutions to deploy and manage their own fiber optic communications network and bypass expensive service from traditional telecommunications providers. The DarkStar™ optical transport system offers unparalleled ease-of-deployment and management of powerful enterprise fiber networks using compact, energy efficient and highly integrated components.

“The objective for DarkStar™ is to light Dark Fiber”, says Bosack. “With DarkStar, we want corporations to realize an economical explosion in bandwidth available to them by building their own fiber optic communications network. Let us show you how”.
