Tropic Ramps Up Sales

OTTAWA -- Tropic Networks®, the developer of Wavelength Tracker™ powered metro regional ROADM systems, announced today that it is expanding its global operations to continue to serve the needs of the company’s customer base and to meet the increasing demands for its next generation networking products.

Effective immediately, Judy Donovan and Richard Matthews will join the team to further penetrate the cable MSO market globally. Based in the United States, Mr. Matthews and Ms. Donovan bring over 40 years of combined experience of business development and sales to the cable marketplace.

Mr. Matthews has extensive experience selling to the cable MSO market. Most recently Mr. Matthews was the Vice President of Sales for World Wide Packets where he was responsible for bringing carrier Ethernet solutions to customers. He was previously SVP of Sales for Arris. Mr. Matthews will be based in Pennsylvania.Ms. Donovan was a key member of the OpVista team as VP Sales and was instrumental in closing deals with Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable. She brings a wealth of knowledge that will enable the Tropic expansion. Ms. Donovan will be based in Colorado.In addition, Tropic Networks is announcing the appointment of Mohamed Beghdadi who will be responsible for establishing Tropic’s presence in EMEA. Based in France, Mr. Beghdadi has 15 years of business development experience in the telecommunications sector, with both Alcatel and more recently Sycamore Networks.
