STOCKHOLM -- Transmode, a leading supplier of optical networking solutions, today announced latency performance of up to 1000 times better than comparable solutions for applications such as algorithmic trading, cloud computing, data center interconnect and video distribution.

Recent changes at the application level such as the introduction of algorithmic trading have changed the performance requirements on optical networking platforms from "low enough to support synchronous Fibre Channel" to "as low as practicably possible". This brings competitive advantage to Transmode's customers and enabling them to win deals where latency is critical.

"My team has always designed solutions for the edge of the optical network, which drives engineers to carefully consider exactly what goes in or stays out of the solutions we design. This ultimately has a large impact on the cost, power consumption and latency of our solutions," said Mohamad Ferej, Vice President R'n'D at Transmode. "It is great to see that the recent changes in applications really enable our customers to capitalize on this Transmode low latency advantage. Our unique design enables customers to win deals where the latency is absolutely critical and our solutions are giving them the edge they need to win."
