FREMONT, Calif. -- Optoplex Corporation, a leading supplier of innovative fiber-optic components for the next-generation communication systems, will showcase its new products which are becoming key components in the deployment of 40-Gb/s systems during Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC) in San Diego, CA, February 26-28, 2008 at Booth# 2642.

The new products to be introduced include a fully integrated and tunable DQPSK demodulator and a series of optical performance monitor (OPM) both of which can fully support 40-Gb/s modulation rate.

Optoplex's integrated DQPSK demodulator is suitable for 40-Gb/s system field deployment and can be customized with different time delays to meet various requirements of system architectures. Based on free-space optical technology and featuring low polarization-dependent frequency shift (PDFS), matched optical path lengths and compact size, this advanced product will provide communication system and subsystem providers the key component for building the fiber-optic networks capable of transmitting 40-Gb/s signals. Optoplex’s DQPSK demodulator is also extendable to handle 100-Gb/s signals. Equipped with advanced algorithm and innovative signal discerning elements, Optoplex’s new OPM is capable of detecting 40-Gb/s signals with duobinary, DPSK, or DQPSK modulations, in 50 or 100 GHz channel spacing. Optoplex’s OPM is based on scanning tunable filter technology, which requires only a single-element photo-detector for measuring channel power, center wavelength and OSNR. Comparing with sensor array based technologies, this is an intrinsically low-cost approach to meet today's explosive network demands. Along with other innovative products, Optoplex is quickly becoming a critical player for the 40-Gb/s components.
