FREMONT, Calif. -- Titan Photonics, a market leader in optical components and network subsystems, announces major deployments of its 6-port filter product line in the WDM market.

Based on the 3D Optical Bundle Array (TM) technology, Titan’s “6-port” WDM combines two conventional 3-port devices in one cylindrical package. This design supports homogeneous optical performance between the two identical parts in one device. More importantly, it significantly reduces the total amount of materials used in optical components thus enables great cost savings in today’s price sensitive market.

Some of the most interesting applications include OADM, MUX/DEMUX and FSAN filter WDM. With Titan’s 6-port WDM technology, customers no longer require to install multiple identical devices at each location. Instead, customers would use only one device to serve the redundant function, kind of like having multiple resistors on one IC chip but the integration stays in the optical domain.

Titan’s “6-port” WDM bring major performance and cost benefits to future optical network design and installation. The product is RoHS compliant and specifically designed for the hardened environment at operating temperature range of -40C to 85C. Titan’s “6-port” WDM is available in most popular frequencies such as 100GHz, 200GHz, CWDM and FSAN FWDM. Isolator and tap monitoring functions are also available in Titan’s 6-port filter product line.
