GigOptix Launches MZ Driver

Is developing a 4-channel 28 Gbit/s Mach-Zehnder modulator driver, integrated into a single GPPO package

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- GigOptix Inc. (OTCBB:GGOX - News), a leading provider of electronic engines for the optically connected digital world, is supporting the telecom community’s drive to 100Gb/s systems with a pair of world firsts.

The Company is developing a 4 channel 28Gb/s Mach-Zehnder (MZ) modulator driver, integrated into a single GPPO package. The target release for production samples is Q1 2010, however early prototypes for research and development of DP-QPSK 100Gb/s transmitters are already available upon request.

Secondly, GigOptix is the only company in the world to offer electro-optic polymer based NRZ MZ modulator operating at 100Gb/s. While the Company is focusing on the productization of its 40G DPSK modulators, it is also making available the higher speed devices for the research and development community.
