Optelian Enhances OTN Capabilities

OTTAWA and MARIETTA, Ga. -- Optelian, a trusted designer and manufacturer of optical transport systems, today announced the availability of enhanced OTN capabilities with the release of the new RGN-10XO 10 Gb/s, G.709-compliant regenerator module.

“Many network operators will use OTN only for its forward error correction (FEC) capability when they are provisioning longer spans,” said Dave Mills, VP Sales for Optelian. “As we move forward, OTN’s enhanced fault isolation and performance monitoring will be adopted to save troubleshooting costs and support service level agreements with end user customers.”
