STOCKHOLM -- Transmode, a global supplier of packet-optical networking solutions, today announced that the US-based managed data center service provider, Net2EZ, has built a protected optical network with Transmode's TM-Series and TG-Series optical networking platforms.

Net2EZ, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, US replaced its existing DWDM equipment with Transmode's solution in order to meet the need for increased capacity on its growing network. The new protected fiber ring offers uninterrupted operations to seven data centers across the United States with multiple 10G and 1G connections. The network now has significantly increased capacity over existing links and provides Net2EZ a range of options for delivering cost efficient new services to its customers, which is critical as the company adds three new data centers. Net2EZ plans to replicate this network architecture as they continue their expansion across the US.

The extra capacity will provide growth opportunities for existing and new applications and allow customers to purchase new 1G or 10G wavelength services. The new highly scalable network uses the TM-Series 10G transponders with forward error correction for long haul transmission and also has redundant fiber paths for a high level of network protection.
