Haliplex awarded contract with Malaysian carrier-neutral wholesale network provider Fiberail

MELBOURNE -- Haliplex Pty Ltd, a leading developer of Utility network solutions, today announced the third in a line of major Malaysian account wins, this time with Malaysia’s premier carrier-neutral wholesale network provider, Fiberail. The project, delivered by Malaysian systems integrator Intelligent Essence, will employ Haliplex’s HPX-1600 platform for seamless legacy network integration.

Fiberail, a joint venture between Telekom Malaysia and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), operates an extensive fiber optic network along the Malaysian rail corridor from Gemas to Rantau Panjang in Kelantan, and from Padang Besar to Johor Baharu. Spanning 1600km and all major townships in Malaysia, the network will delivery of “triple-play” voice, video and data services and other total business solutions.

Established in 1999, Haliplex designs and manufactures modular optical multiplexers that protect investment in SDH/SONET technologies, extend the life of legacy TDM infrastructure, and provide a pay-as-you grow migration to the Next Generation Network. Haliplex focuses on communications solutions for many of the world’s most progressive Utility and Transport operators.

Earlier this month Haliplex announced account wins with Malaysian Rail operators KTMB and Rapid KL. In a media briefing today Haliplex Chief Executive Officer, Richard Cookes, detailed Haliplex’s recent winning streak.
