A Nokia sale of mobile, especially to the US, would be nuts
Nokia's hiring of Intel's Justin Hotard to be its new CEO has set tongues wagging again about a mobile exit, but it would look counterintuitive and inadvisable.
Lumentis optical wavelength platform selected by fiber carrier Stokab to provide a redundant network between Stockholm and Visby, Gotland
April 25, 2004
STOCKHOLM -- Lumentis AB announces that Lumentis’ all-in-one and carrier-grade optical wavelength platform has been selected by Stokab, the largest fiber carrier in the Stockholm region, to provide a redundant 8 wavelength network between Stockholm and Visby, Gotland.
“Lumentis supports Stokab in their implementation of flexible service deliveries on top of their dark fiber infrastructure for different traffic requirements in metropolitan networks”, says Pär Johanson, Director for Marketing and Sales at Lumentis. “By deploying Lumentis’ all-in-one platform, Stokab will be able to easily continue offering full redundancy in their network to higher capacity and changes in topology, such as combining CWDM, DWDM, for further extension into regional and national transport.”
“With the successful implementation of Lumentis equipment in our Metronet we have secured full redundancy from Gotland by using one pair of fiber from another actor. With Lumentis equipment that pair of fiber can be used by several of our customers” says Staffan Lundgren, CEO at Stokab.
