Joseph Y. Liu will succeed Fred Fromm, who has resigned to pursue personal interests, as president and CEO

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Oplink Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPLK), a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative optical technologies, today announced that it has named Joseph Y. Liu as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Liu will succeed Fred Fromm, who has resigned to pursue personal interests. Mr. Liu was formerly Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Oplink. He founded the Company in 1995 and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Prior to founding Oplink, Mr. Liu was Chairman and CEO of Techlink Semiconductor and Equipment Corporation. Mr. Liu also serves as a director to several companies involved in semiconductor, communications, software, multi-media and PC peripherals.
