PHOENIX, Ariz. -- UTC Telecom 2014 -- The Utilities Telecom Council attracted roughly 1,800 total attendees to Phoenix last week, all there to explore the overhaul of the utility communications network and the expansion of utilities into broadband services.
Network modernization was the name of the game, as more than 180 technology vendors -- many of them familiar names in the telecom world -- shopped their high-tech wares to representatives from 300 global utilities, according to UTC.
