Sony to Cut Up to 10,000 Jobs

Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE) will reportedly cut 10,000 jobs -- 6 percent of its workforce -- by the end of 2012 as the company's new CEO attempts to return the organization to a profit.

CEO Kazuo Hirai is expected to talk about the cuts this Thursday, according to the Nikkei newspaper in Japan. Hirai has just taken over from previous boss Howard Stringer.
