SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq:AMCC) held its 2006 Annual Meeting of Stockholders today, March 9, 2007 at its corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. At the meeting, the Company's stockholders approved each of the proposals described in the Company's Definitive Proxy Statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 29, 2007, including election of the following directors: Cesar Cesaratto, Kambiz Hooshmand, Niel Ransom, Fred Shlapak, Art Stabenow and Julie Sullivan.

At the meeting, Cesar Cesaratto, Chairman of the Board, thanked the three directors whose terms on the board ended today: Murray Goldman, David Wright and Harvey White and expressed a special appreciation to Harvey White who agreed to postpone his decision to step down from the board in order to oversee the Company's recently completed internal investigation of its stock option grant practi ces and related accounting.

Following adjournment of the meeting, Kambiz Hooshmand, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer made a presentation regarding the Company's strategy and goals to those attending the meeting.
