Oki Network Tech and Sumitomo Corp. do Brasil join forces to bring VOIP solutions to Brasil

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Oki Network Technologies (Oki NT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. of Japan, today announced that Sumitomo Corp. do Brasil, a subsidiary of Sumitomo, Japan, has signed a major distribution agreement that will enable Sumitomo Corp. do Brasil to act as a direct point of distribution for Oki NT's carrier-class Voice over IP gateways. "Voice over IP stands to bring in a new era of communications efficiency, cost savings and simplified management for service providers and enterprises throughout Brasil," said Harushige Sugimoto, president of Oki NT. "Sumitomo Corp. do Brasil's channel strength coupled with the quality of Oki's VoIP gateways is a winning combination for those who look to a trusted and established concern for their telecommunications needs."
