MT. LAUREL, N.J. -- Oki Optical Components Company (OCC), today announced the formation of Oki Optical Components (OOC), a subsidiary dedicated to supporting North American customers. Headquartered in New Jersey with offices in Silicon Valley on the West Coast, OOC is part of Oki's global strategy to support their optical customer base. OOC will focus on marketing, selling and supporting Oki's expanding line of 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps components, including modulators, lasers, photodiodes and high-speed ICs designed specifically for Metro, Intermediate and Long-haul network infrastructures. "The formation of Oki Optical Components stems from Oki's historical commitment to our customers, as well as our increased market presence on a global scale," said Ken Anahara, director of sales at OOC. "With offices on both the East and West Coasts, we are better positioned to assist our customers as they deploy current and next generation optical network infrastructures." OCC's product lines represent a high-performance, cost-effective approach to sophisticated optical solutions. Among its highly-reliable products are semiconductor laser diode modules, communication ICs, and optical transceivers for applications ranging from OC-3 to OC-768 based networks.
