SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM), a supplier of innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced that it has worked closely with Minerva Networks, a new member of its Occam Packet Access Network (OPAN) alliance, to integrate and test a complete IP television delivery platform.

Minerva is the only IP television systems vendor providing both headend equipment and middleware as well as consulting and integration services. Occam offers innovative IP-based loop carrier platforms that enable telecommunications service providers to deliver both traditional and packetized broadband services from a single access network. Occam and Minerva have completed joint trials and are now ready to provide carriers with a fully tested integrated solution for delivering interactive video services.

SureWest Communications, a provider of advanced communications products and services in the Sacramento Metropolitan region, has selected and successfully tested the combined Occam and Minerva solution.

"Working with multiple vendors who have participated successfully in various trials, and whose products are interoperable, makes the deployment of an access network architecture technically more efficient and cost-effective," said Bill DeMuth, chief technology officer at SureWest Communications. "This cooperation helps us deliver services to our subscribers quickly and simply."

"As a member of OPAN we can offer significant benefits to operators deploying Occam broadband access solutions," said Jean-Georges Fritsch, chief operating officer for Minerva Networks. "Occam's BLC 6000 delivers the bandwidth and flexibility our telco customers are increasingly demanding."

"Minerva offers a high-quality headend and middleware product," said Russ Sharer, vice president of sales and marketing at Occam Networks. "By working closely with Minerva, now a member of OPAN, we can together offer our customers a solution that minimizes their deployment risks, time to service and technical support issues."
