BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Network Elements, Inc. (NEI), a leading manufacturer of high-performance 10Gb/s optical networking modules, today announced the MiniPHY-300 10km module for use in 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) 10GBASE-LR applications. As the latest addition to NEI’s family of Small Form Factor (SFF) modules, the MiniPHY-300 10km provides the highest performance available for 10Gb/s data communication. The module features uncooled 1310nm DFB serial optics for low power dissipation with best-of-class performance over a wide temperature range. Measuring just 3.0” x 2.2” x 0.5” and dissipating less than five watts, the 10km module enables network equipment providers to integrate multiple 10Gb/s channels on a single-slot line card. Integrating multiple channels on a single card reduces the development time and cost of high density systems, key to designing switches, routers, servers, aggregators, and test equipment in the enterprise, metro, and core. “NEI is now offering a quality, high-performance optical networking module specifically engineered for 10GbE applications,” said Bruce Murdock, president and chief executive officer, Network Elements, Inc. “We continue to answer our customers’ requests, bringing industry-leading technologies to the data communications market. Network Elements is dedicated to providing the highest-performing modules on the market, with a more complete range of optical networking solutions than any other module provider.” Network Elements Inc.
