Programmable Telco Digital Symposium 2023 - Brought to you by Microsoft
November 28, 2023
Date: Nov 28, 2023
Duration: 4 Hr
Session 1: How open APIs and Microsoft’s Azure Programmable Connectivity can help operators monetize networks with modern connected applications - 9am ET
The telco industry is undergoing a major transformation as new technologies such as 5G, cloud, and edge computing enable new applications and services that require high performance, low latency, and network awareness. However, accessing and leveraging the network capabilities of different operators and cloud providers can be challenging for developers when dealing with multiple infrastructures and diverse architectures.
This session will explore how open APIs can further monetize operator networks by accelerating the development and deployment of modern connected applications. It will showcase some of the latest initiatives and projects that aim to provide universal, open source-based APIs for developers to access and use a variety of network services, such as location, identity, billing, quality of service, and device management.
Speakers:
Ricardo Villarreal, Principal Product Manager, Azure for Operators, Microsoft
Programmable Telco Digital Symposium Session 2: Modernizing network implementation and operation with Microsoft’s Azure Operator Nexus - 11am ET
Since the inception of network functions virtualization, operators have gone through many iterations of private cloud infrastructure, continually evolving their architectures as virtualized network functions have given way to those built purely cloud native. Starting with more forgiving workloads, service providers are now looking to scale highly distributed core network control and data plane components in these environments.
This symposium will explore the benefits of employing a platform capable of supporting multi-vendor solutions. We will examine the specific Azure services employed for lifecycle management, operations, and orchestration, including the Azure for Operators AI Ops portfolio. In addition, this symposium will look at how a hybrid-cloud platform benefits operator business models, reducing the up-front capital outlays typically associated with deploying new service delivery platforms, and the ongoing operational expenses of managing distributed services and applications.
Speakers:
Shawn Hakl, VP, 5G Strategy, Microsoft
