OTTAWA -- MOSAID Technologies Inc. (TSE: MSD) today introduced two additions to the MOSAID Class-IC family of high performance Network Search Engines. Fabricated in Fujitsu's proven 0.18 micron CS80DLC process, the DC family expands to include the DC18288, an 18Mbit Network Search Engine and the DC9000, a new 9Mbit Network Search Engine offering glue-less connectivity with industry leading network processors. "With the introduction of these two new devices, MOSAID is addressing the evolving market requirement for increasing density and industry interoperability while preserving the cost and low power benefits of MOSAID's patented DRAM technology," said Lluis Paris, Vice-President and General Manager of the Semiconductor Division. Pin compatible with the DC9288 announced in January 2002, the Class-IC DC18288 provides a cost effective, seamless upgrade path for system developers who require higher densities. The DC18288 offers all of the advantages of the DC9288 while increasing the capacity of the device to 256K 72 bit entries per device. Capable of performing up to 100 million searches per second, the DC18288 is ideally suited for OC-48 and OC-192 applications. A high performance cascading scheme allows system designers to maintain full search throughput for tables of up to 2M entries. Optimized for applications using commercially available network processors, the DC9000 builds on the rich feature set of the DC9288. The DC9000 integrates the recently standardized Network Processor Forum LA-1 interface to promote interoperability with network processing elements. By including this interface, the need for costly FPGA devices between the DC9000 and industry leading network processors is eliminated.Mosaid Semiconductor
