Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame

Major U.S. MSOs have deployed more than 100,000 Wi-Fi hotspots as they look to add value to their broadband service tiers. That strategy has also opened opportunities for operators to offer free Wi-Fi access at major sporting venues. Comcast has just lit such a network covering major congregation spots in the outfield areas of Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies' home opener isn't until Friday, April 5, but the Wi-Fi network is up and running and will be accessible Friday night (March 29), when the first of the team's final two spring training games comes to Citizens Bank Park. We took a look around earlier this week to check out the new Wi-Fi set-up. Click "next" to start your tour.

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame What baloney. This doesn't even qualify as "LITE READING". Just a long form ad for Comcast. Worthless.

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame Spot on there, Craig. We get 13Ks from our best pitcher and can't figure out a way to win the game.

How about instead of a tour of the ballpark we get a
critical review of the service?- I wouldnGt
trust cable wifi at all.- Google Gwifi evil
twinG to learn more.-- Identity thieves already
know thisGǪ now with 50,000 victims in the stands.

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame Well, I'm a Rox fan and I already feel the year's a no-hoper when stories out of Denver call Jeff Francis the bright spot of the rotation.

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame There is an error on Slide 18: Cubs fans do *not*, in fact, have any hope their team will make a run at the pennant.- :)

Also, look at all those gray skies!- I'll take California baseball any day, especially when it's March/April.

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame Mis-identification on slide nine. That's actually Brian Lamoreaux, director of information systems for the Phillies. Sorry for the mix-up.- Caption should be fix'd soon. JB

re: Photos: Cable Wi-Fi – A Whole New Ballgame The system is being a little slow with this revision, but the first of the team's final two spring training games-to be played at the park is Friday March 29-(not Thursday the 28th). JB
