What's Your Favorite Mobile App?
10:55 AM Used a game-changing app or service on your smartphone or tablet this year? Nominate it for a 2012 Leading Lights award
10:55 AM -- With more than 650,000 mobile applications in Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL)'s App Store alone, not every one is going to achieve Angry Birds-style success. Still, there's a lot of notable mobile apps out there, and we're searching for the best of the best.
Voting is now open for Light Reading's 2012 Leading Lights awards. Best New Service or Application (Mobile) is one of the nine categories being represented.
And not to make the other Leading Lights categories feel bad, but this category is clearly the most fun. Apps and services are what really make a device unique, showcase the power of the network and prove a company understands what make mobile consumers tick.
We're not just talking about mobile apps from all the various app stores either. Last year, Verizon Wireless 's Long Term Evolution (LTE) network was crowned the winner, for example. We're hoping some more operator-powered services will make it on the leaderboards this year too, but all companies are encouraged to apply. Here's the requirements to be considered for Best New Service or Application (Mobile):
Must be a revenue-generating service or app that enhances the use of next-gen communications technology in the mobile network
Must have been launched after Sept. 16, 2011
And ... that's it! All you really have to do is convince us your app or service is worthy.

Good luck!
