BELLEVUE, Wash. -- MidStream Technologies,™ a leading developer of broadcast quality Video on Demand (VoD) and Network Digital Video Recording (nDVR) server and storage solutions announces the general availability of the V1 Video Server. MidStream sets the industry standard in breadth and depth of VOD solutions, from large scale centralized systems utilizing the V10 Video Server, to decentralized or edge cache deployments with the V1 Video Server.

The V1 Video Server combines commercially available PC platforms with MidStream’s real-time, embedded software streaming engine. This reliable, scalable engine provides robust media delivery from the V1, just as it does from the V2 and V10 server products. Based on system operator’s preference, MidStream will integrate its patent-pending software streaming engine onto a certified PC platform.

Operators that prefer commodity based video streaming platforms to reduce deployment costs can now receive the feature and performance benefits of a custom streaming engine without having to buy a custom hardware video server.

“We have continued our development of server and storage solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers,” said Bailey Shewchuk, chief operating officer at MidStream Technologies. “We took the proven performance of our streaming server software and cost effectiveness of commercially available PC platforms and created a new server system that delivers unmatched value today.”
