MetaSolv Provisions Brazilian DSL

PLANO, Texas -- MetaSolv Software, Inc., a global leader in comprehensive service fulfillment solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today announced that Brasil Telecom has implemented MetaSolv's comprehensive provisioning portfolio, achieving significant efficiencies and scale in delivering DSL services. The MetaSolv portfolio of network resource management, order management, and multi-service activation has enabled Brasil Telecom to fulfill nearly double the volume of DSL service requests, while dramatically decreasing service delivery times.

Brasil Telecom's portfolio of next-generation communications services includes DSL and high speed Internet access services for residential and business customers throughout its service territory, which spans approximately a third of Brazil, and reaching 23 percent of the country's population. Brasil Telecom currently is able to process approximately 50,000 requests per month for DSL service.

With MetaSolv, Brasil Telecom has streamlined the process for identifying available capacity and configuring DSL service requests over its multi-vendor network that includes DSLAMS from five different hardware vendors. In addition, Brasil Telecom has extended the MetaSolv service activation software to automatically confirm DSL service modems in use, significantly reducing time to bill for the service. Brasil Telecom also has significantly reduced the number of truck rolls by leveraging MetaSolv for line testing and service diagnostics.

In addition to DSL service, Brasil Telecom has implemented the MetaSolv portfolio for automated fulfillment of ATM, frame relay, and dedicated Internet access services. Brasil Telecom is leveraging MetaSolv's unique, proven multi-service capabilities as the core of its next-generation OSS infrastructure, called ProVision.
