LOS ANGELES -- Menara Networks, a vertically integrated optical IP/Ethernet transport specialist announces general availability of its full C-band Tunable OTN XFP and OTN XENPAK with integrated G.709 OTN framing and forward error correction.

The Full C-band 50GHz Tunable OTN XFP and OTN XENPAK complete the company portfolio of providing total DWDM transponder replacement by offering all the necessary OTN transponder functions in a low power, cost effective, XFP or XENPAK small form-factor MSA transceiver. Menara’s patented “System-in-a-Module” Tunable OTN XFP and OTN XENAPK transceivers offer complete high performance optical networking functions including integrated ITU-T G.709 OTU-2 framing, OTN alarms and performance monitoring processing, Forward Error Correction for OSNR gain, automatic receiver threshold adaptation based on Forward Error Correction feedback and SBS suppression for ultra long reach systems. Additionally Menara OTN transceivers offer system and line loopbacks as well as an integrated 231 pattern generator and checker for rapid, automated in-field testing or troubleshooting, thus greatly simplifying the provisioning and turn-up of DWDM capacity.

The Menara OTN XFP or OTN XENPAK transceiver module can be individually tuned to any one of 94 channels over the 50 GHz ITU grid and supports error-free, in-service transmission over existing deployments of both 100GHz and 50GHz DWDM systems. Menara OTN XFP modules offer true transponder replacement for high performance metro, regional, and long haul DWDM networks thus greatly simplifying DWDM networks and bringing disruptive economics and operational efficiencies to carriers.
