Italtel Names General Manager

MILAN -- Italtel’s Board of Directors, headed by the President Roberto Quarta, appointed Mauro Righetti to the position of Company General Manager and co-opted him as member of the board.

Righetti, fifty four years old, arrives at Italtel with a strong background comprised of significant management and entrepreneurial positions and experiences. His career starts in 1970 in Olivetti where over the years he holds positions of increasing responsibility, reaches the position of director for the industrial segment and becomes a member of the board. Righetti joins the Oracle Group in 1993 and in six years (until 1998) holds prominent management positions, such as President of the Corporation Management Advisory Board managing the globalization process policies, and President and Board member of Network Computer Inc., a Nasdaq listed subsidiary of the group. In 1993 he founds and manages Oracle Italia which, under his guidance, achieves outstanding results in terms of revenue and growth. Finally, in 1998, Righetti starts Smart Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on the hi-tech sector with a strong record of successful investments in Italy and the United States.
