The Rise of Industry 4.0

Are you ready for the fourth industrial revolution? It's a big deal for influential operators such as Deutsche Telekom.

Why fewer telcos @Ray:

Why there are fewer Telcos in this year's CeBit? Is this just this year? Or is it a trend from last few years?

Re: 'Industry 4.0' and 'Industrial Internet' DT is bring its valuable T-Systems exerience to bear here, it seems to me. And DT is all over this NOW. Eraly m,over advantages will actually be a true advantage for once, I think.

We will buy you a beer anyway. Details to come - I will organize a Light Networking gathering in Londo during April and we'll give it a German theme (leiderhosen and sausages).

Re: 'Industry 4.0' and 'Industrial Internet' That sounds most attractive but no, I can't pretend any kind of expertise - just interest in how this thing is going to pan out. I do think it's interesting, and a promising way forward for telcos who, it seems to me, should have a lot more to bring to the party than mediating transactions (as DT are no doubt demonstrating at CeBit).

According to Wikipedia, yes.
Is this something you're an expert about?

'Industry 4.0' and 'Industrial Internet' Are these terms synonomous?

Re: Industry 4.0 They may exist but not at CeBIT - I wanted to get on one.

Industry 4.0 Interesting, Ray. Sierra Wireless is also focusing on M2M and IoT for industry and automotive industries. Maybe there was not tractor to be exhibit there but connected tractors already exist. :) -Susan
