MARLBOROUGH, Mass. and SHREWSBURY, N.J. -- Internet Photonics, a leading developer of carrier-grade Optical Ethernet and 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) metro DWDM transport solutions, today announced its LightStack(TM) MXA Optical Ethernet customer premise device completed OSMINE for Telcordia TIRKS, a major milestone of the Telcordia OSMINE Services Process and a requirement for RBOC deployments."One of the major challenges service providers face today is integrating new equipment into their existing OSSs in a way that achieves a very high level of flow through automation," said Dennis Tinley, vice president, Customer Solutions, Telcordia. "OSMINE is a Telcordia process that addresses this challenge for service providers by analyzing network equipment and element management systems from different vendors to help ensure interoperability with the Telcordia-developed operations support systems."Based on completion of this step in the OSMINE process, RBOCs deploying the LightStack MXA are able to automatically inventory, provision, and manage these new Optical Ethernet services from their existing Telcordia TIRKS systems. Internet Photonics also has worked strategically with Telcordia to integrate its unique SONET Wrap Around(TM) capability into the TIRKS OSS, allowing RBOCs to provision new services on top of existing lit fiber without disruption to the legacy TDM services.
