LANNION, France -- HighWave Optical Technologies, (Nouveau Marché, HGWO) a leading European supplier of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) sub-systems for the deployment of high-speed optical telecommunications infrastructures, today announced the introduction of a complete new line of Erbium doped fibers.Erbium Doped Fiber (EDF) is a critical element in today's state-of-the-art Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA). Highwave has developed two new C Band and one new L band fibers which offer a significant advantage in amplifier performance, design, cost and productivity. These new C and L band Fibers naturally benefit all of Highwave Optical Technologies know-how particularly in terms of fiber uniformity and reproducibility."The design and the know-how of such fibers comes from more than 20 years of R&D experience in the France Telecom labs and later in the Highwave labs. With these new specialty fibers, Highwave will improve the efficiency of its own amplifiers, reduce the design and manufacturing costs and provide the best product to its customers." commented Sylvain Boj, Chief Operating Officer.HighWave Optical Technologies
