HanseNet has selected Alcatel as its exclusive technology partner for the delivery of triple play services

PARIS -- HanseNet Telekommunikation GmbH, a subsidiary of Telecom Italia and one of Germany's leading service providers, has selected Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) as its exclusive technology partner for the delivery of triple play services, including telephone, Internet access and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) for the new product Alice homeTV.

Alcatel will provide the IP-based network infrastructure HanseNet requires to offer its customers a complete range of innovative user-centric triple play services. HanseNet's access network will be upgraded with the Alcatel7302 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM), the industry's first high-bandwidth IP access platform for triple play. Linking together the access network to the service edge, Alcatel's Optical Multi-Service Node(OMSN) systems and 1678 Metro Core Connect (MCC) will aggregate and reliably transport the multiple services across the network. Alcatel will also deliver its integrated end-to-end video solution. Based on an open andnon-proprietary architecture, Alcatel's video solution usesindustry-standard interfaces that allow for seamless integration with existing infrastructure and systems from different equipment vendors.

Alcatel is also providing a complete services integration solution thatbrings together the network infrastructure, software platforms andintegration skill sets required to deliver a superior user experience.Alcatel is the industry leader in providing purpose-built technology solutions and services integration that allow carriers to reduce the cost and complexity associated with IPTV deployments."With TV, telephone, Internet access and video on demand from a single source, we are one of the first service providers in Germany to offer its subscribers such innovations," said HanseNet CEO Harald Rösch.
