BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Verizon Business is helping users of corporate networks make the most of popular business applications.

Verizon Business announced today its new Managed WAN Optimization Service. The new managed service enables Verizon Business’ professional services staff to fine-tune networks for customers so that widely used applications such as Microsoft Outlook, SAP and ERP are delivered more quickly to end-users locally or around the globe. The optimization service is ideal for customers with distributed or global environments, or both, that require standard performance of corporate applications across all company sites.

Companies today are often faced with poor performing applications caused by multiple factors--including rogue applications on a network, bandwidth for non-business use, replication and data backups--which can lead to long transaction times, lowered productivity or an inability of workers to access applications.

“Our commitment and capabilities extend beyond the network to the vital applications that ride on it,” said Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Business. “We work hand-in-hand with customers to deliver a world-class customer experience and to help them manage their networks and maintain continuous access to their business-critical applications.”
