PETALUMA, Calif. -- Turin Networks, Inc., a leading global provider of innovative Carrier Ethernet, Converged Services and Wireless Backhaul solutions for wireline and wireless network operators, today announced a new feature release that positions the company's widely deployed Adit® 600 platform as the industry's first carrier-grade Converged Services Access Gateway. With a fully modular architecture that supports hot-swappable service cards, Turin's Adit 600 provides greater flexibility, system reliability, and a longer product lifecycle than competing devices which only support fixed configurations. The release adds new advanced IP routing and IP service delivery capabilities, optimizing the product line to facilitate the migration to VoIP, the delivery of Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) services as well as managed IP VPNs for small to medium businesses (SMB).

Recent in-depth research from leading high-tech market research firm In-Stat indicates that the market for Multi-Service Business Gateway (MSBG) devices is poised for high growth. In-Stat defines MSBGs as a class of products, such as Turin's Adit product line, which integrate multiple voice, data, and video communication functions into a single device and are purpose-built for SMB applications.

"Going forward, it is clear that MSBGs will be the means by which new IP communications technologies and applications are adopted at the small, medium and branch office," said Keith Nissen, Principal Analyst at In-Stat. "As a result, we expect the worldwide MSBG market will generate over US$2.7 billion annually by 2012."
