SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR - News) today announced that TELUS, one of Canada's leading telecommunications companies, has selected the infranet-ready E-series routing platform to deliver high quality, reliable broadband services to its business and consumer customers. The E-series combines carrier-class routing, broadband subscriber management and IP services in a single platform. This enables TELUS to offer high-speed access and other revenue-generating IP services, while also reducing operational expenses. Powered by an innovative, programmable ASIC-based architecture, the E-series routing platforms are ideal for deploying IP services at the carrier edge.

"The Juniper Networks solutions enable TELUS to move broadband services beyond pure Internet connectivity to the more enhanced, reliable IP service offerings that our customers require," said Tim Fell, director of broadband services at TELUS. "We selected the E-series for its wire-speed performance, reliability and scale, as well as its ability to enable unique, differentiated services requiring Quality of Service. In addition, the E-series minimizes our infrastructure management and maintenance costs because of its increased reliability and availability."

"With its commitment to building a reliable converged IP/MPLS infrastructure capable of delivering an assured experience to its customers, TELUS is an example of how networks will evolve as providers adopt the principles of the infranet model," said Jim Dolce, executive vice president, worldwide field operations at Juniper Networks.
