SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Tasman Networks, a leading provider of advanced WAN routers and connectivity solutions for bandwidth-intensive applications, today unveiled the Tasman 1004 router, the industry's first T1 or E1 WAN connectivity solution that offers built-in scalability in multiple dimensions – bandwidth, functionality, and performance – to address the growing market demand for cost-effective, branch/remote office connectivity bandwidth from one to four T1 or E1s. The Tasman 1004 features scalable software functionality, four built-in T1 or E1 ports that can be activated as needed and more than enough processing power and memory in the base system to handle a fully loaded configuration. It is the first solution that not only cost-effectively serves single T1 applications, but also permits customers to scale up – number of interfaces, protocols and applications, and raw processing power – as their business needs grow without requiring expensive hardware upgrades. Overall, the Tasman 1004 router offers 300 percent better performance than equally priced competitive solutions, and is priced 61 percent lower than competitive solutions offering comparable performance and functionality. "We have developed a solution that is very competitive for single T1 applications, but also includes a robust hardware configuration, including a massive amount of memory and computing power, that is 'ready to go' when the user needs to add more bandwidth or services," said Paul Smith, president and CEO of Tasman Networks. "The Tasman 1004 represents the intersection of the flexibility needs of T1 users, the latest high-integration silicon, and the proven power of the Tasman hardware and software architecture."Tasman Networks Inc.
