T-Mobile's Merger Mania

Yep, it's Thursday, so it must be time for our regular T-Mobile USA merger story.

This week, new CEO of T-Mobile parent company Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT), says at a press conference in Bonn, Germany, that he is "open to a merger but not at any price." Any deal, he says, has to reflect the growing market value of T-Mobile USA, which has just posted record customer numbers for its third quarter (see T-Mobile USA Reports Q3).So far, T-Mobile -- an operator with definite recidivist tendencies -- has been linked with both the major GSM/GPRS carriers stateside, Cingular Wireless and AT&T Wireless Services Inc. (NYSE: AWE).

Rumors that the carrier has also been spotted sucking face with J-Lo at the Hudson Bar are so far unconfirmed.
